We are honoring Luis Hernandez. An essential volunteer with Bk2Ak for 15 years. Also, honoring Dr. Joycelynne Rainey President & CEO of Brooklyn Org.

Luis Hernandez has had an incredible influence on scores of young people. He has mentored and guided many of our participants. Most of all, he has led through the example of his work ethic and his integrity. Sam Gregory's daughter was so impacted by Luis that she wrote her college essay on her relationship with Luis.

Dr. Jocelynne Rainey, Ed.D. Is a leader in New York City's nonprofit sector and a seasoned executive with over 25 years of leadership experience. As President & CEO of Brooklyn Org Dr. Rainey has led Brooklyn Org's bold evolution from Brooklyn Community Foundation to create a more inclusive and accessible model for community philanthropy.

Dr. Rainey has been a business leader and a change agent for her entire adult life. We at Bk2Ak are extremely grateful that she has agreed to be an honoree at our 2025 gala!

This event will raise the funds needed for this summer to provide kids with transformative experiences in the rugged wilderness of Alaska

The night will include a panel conversation with program leaders, participants and alumni about what leading with action means inside the program. Plus, an opportunity to celebrate the participants about to embark on a life-changing experience this summer and the remarkable changemakers in our organization.
